Super A lift problem?

I have just purchased a Super A with fast hitch. I noticed that the fenders and the footboard play a key role in lifting implements, since it appears that everything ties into together. The problem is this. I am missing one bolt and the other head is missing on my footboard. Each fender has 5 to 6 bolts each, and of course, I am missing about 2 from each. When I raised my 500 lb double gang disk harrow, there was a definite "give" in the fenders, footboard, and seat. It seems the quickest remedy would be for my welder to run a bead around each fender and the footboard. (With the appropriate rod of course) Do you folks agree or not? Any help will be appreciated. Oh, and other than the "give", the front of the tractor did not get light. Thanks for your help. Marty Hundley
