I have a later 60's, early 70's (?) Cub Lo-Boy. The tabs or ears on the inside of the gas tank are worn off and the gas cap can be turned all the way around. The cap won't seal properly and gas slops around and leaks out of the top of the tank, even with only a partial tank and on level ground. I'm afraid of a fire, as the gas drips directly down on the exhaust pipe! Is there any way to repair the cap opening so the caps seals better, or will I have to put on a new tank (read top sheetmetal - it's all one piece!). Also, the I.D. plate on the steering box is gone. Everytime I try to get parts for it, the first thing they ask for is the serial number or at least the year. Is there any way to date this tractor? What numbers should I look for...and where? Thanks in advance.
