I have spent the whole day today with the H I bought at auction two weeks ago. Unfortunately, it was not on it but trying to start it. I have been jumping it off of my truck's 12 volt battery, the starter turns and turns with no sign of starting. I have totally cleaned and rebuilt the carburetor, replaced the very leaky sediment bowl and removed the nasty 'gas' that was in the tank. The best I have gotten is a shotgun like pop out of the manifold, which I also replaced because I suspected the old one was leaky since it was so badly corroded. I am at a loss. It has a magneto ignition and the spark looks strong. One thing I think is highly related to the problem. Even after lots of cranking, the plugs are dry and barely smell like gas. The throttle butterfly is wide open and I have tightened everything on the carb to try and eliminate air leaks. I seek the wisdom of the Farmall board to help me get her to roar tomorrow (no muffler yet). The last time I saw her run was the day I bought her. Thanks! -BTD
