The absolute best thing to do (I personally have done this and am 200% satisfied) is to take the tak off, send it to Kent Kaster (K & K antique tractors). He will clean it out and put a lining in the tank that will hold up forever. It's even VERY cheap when you consider the time you put in to taking the tank off and on all the time and not getting the problem solved.
