Anybody here know anything about hydraulic cylinders? I put my loader on the H and the cylinders worked fine but then 2 days later the left cylinder started pouring oil out of the place where a return line would hook. Only did this at a certain height and above. Took the thing apart tonight and everything looks fine to what I can tell. I did see some dirt up in the cylinder tube and thought that could be holding the seal up when the cylinder gets to the dirt, causing oil to leak around it? These cylinders havn't been used in years. Oil does not leak around the top of the cylinder and get on the shaft. It only comes out of the return. What gets me though is that it does not leak out of there until you get to about the height of the tractor then it POURS out? I gotta get this bad boy going! Also, do I NEED a return line?? Seems like it comes down fast enough? Well thanx in advance...any help is appreciated! RC

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches.
