My '53 narrow front Super H exhibits the classic front wheel wobble while running in 5th gear. Yesterday I pulled the cover off the steering gear box for a peek inside. I found the worm and sector gear to be in good shape - gearbox even still had some oil in it. But I also found at least 1/16" of radial play at the top (sector gear end) of the upper bolster pivot shaft. I suspect this is the cause of the shimmy and that it's time to replace the bushing and seal. My questions: 1 - Should I replace both bolster bushings (top and bottom) while I have it apart? The bottom bushing seems to have no play, but with the weight of the assembled parts it's hard to tell. (The tractor still steers easy which tells me the thrust bearing is probably OK.) 2 - Any tips for driving the old bushings and seals out and getting the replacements back in? Any advice is appreciated! ...Bob M
