I purchased a 1939 H for the purpose of pulling it. I have a few questions that I hope someone can help me with. 1. Is the 39 H engine a low compression engine, I’ve read that they were designed to run on distillate fuel, thus a low compression engine? 2. If the answer to the above question is yes, then what can I do the “hop” this engine up? Should I put in high compression pistons (if the make them)? Can I mill the head down? Is there a kit available to make it like the “Super H”, or is their more the super engine than just pistons, heads etc.? What about the valve size and the cam? 3. In regards to the rear tires. Do new tires work better than worn tires? If worn tires are better, what % of tread should there be? 4. What weight class does the H pull best in? Thanks for any help. Happy Pulling Dan
