If you got it for $700 and it runs, you got an excellent price! If you have only basic tools, you can do the valve job yourself. Get a gasket set and take the head off and take it to an engine shop. The only tools in addition to wrenches that you need are a torque wrench and feeler gages to set the valve clearance. Also, check the block to make sure it is not cracked out behind the carburator. Lot's of them froze and cracked at that location.
