4 cyl Gas Engine Identification Help

I have an International 4 cyl gas engine in my Leroi air compressor circa 1970 which I am trying to identify. The intake/exhaust manifold is a single casting, with the exhaust stack going up in front of the first intake or exhaust port.

Does anyone know what engine this might be, or know of a site that could help me identify same?

Thanks for your help

It looks like a LeRoi engine to me. Those engines
were built for LeRoi by Allis Chalmers, and are
parts interchangable with 4 cyls of the same
dasplacement as WC tractors, cotton pickers,
small road graders etc.

That is the four cylinder version of the engines that were used in the IH 460 and 560. The size would depend on what the crank stroke is. The 574 used one that was a C200.

Don"t know these well enough to recognize pic, but FWIW:
A couple filter catalogs list LeRoi compressors, but not by CFM---there"s a 150RG2 with a Ford 172 4cyl gas (the engine apparently built 55-65?)...
The catalogs also list some 125"s, and some do have a Ford 220 diesel, which could be the 125CFM"s Dale mentions, if the LeRoi designations do follow CFM capacity...

My model and serial # are as follows:
LeRoi 150 CFM Portable Compressor
Model: 150RG1E
Serial: 287X370
I was told the motor was IH by the man I bought the unit from, but that information could be incorrect.

Any information based on the above model #?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry, no listings in what I have for an RG1 (parts catalogs are notoriously incomplete).
LeRoi seems to"ve used a wide assortment of engines in their compressors, including their own D176, D201 and D226 4cyls, all (I think) gas. The only IH"s I see in my listings are UD"s, which I think are diesels.
If no better advice turns up, you might post the pic (or, better, one of each side) on the Ford forum to see if anyone there recognizes it; I believe the 172 is listed as an Industrial tractor engine.

Gee , I haven't seen one of them in ages !! I had a dozen of 'em in a rental fleet back in the seventiies. They were the modern replacement for the old Monoblock LeRoi compressor/ Engine combo. We had 85 CFM's like yours and Bigger Ford diesel powered 125 cfm's. I may have an owners manual ,but I 'd have to search for It. I'm thinking its the same engine as an "A" farmall a 123 cid ?? I'll check back tomorrow to see if someone knows.....

The Leroi compressor I'm referring to has a tag on the body '150 CFM'.

I can't seem to get parts for the compressor portion of the system, and the motor is the best runnin' thing I've ever seen. So, I thought I'd someday sell it to a tractor lover...

Look the engine over real well. There should be a number on it like this. C231 etc. That number if you post it will help us help you figure out what it is

I've never seen an international engine with the carb and manifold on the right side while looking at it from the flywheel.

Where do you see international at?
