Here are some pics from around the neighborhood. Corn planting has been going at a lighting fast pace. I have never seen so much corn planted in such a short amount of time. Seems like there have been a lot of lights moving on the horizon till the early am since it finally dried out. A few guys are done. I still need a good long day and a little more. Just a couple of clear days and everybody can start on beans. They are calling for rain overnight tonight and again friday and saturday. After planting 520 acres of corn in two and a piece days it seems like 240 more acres should be a piece of cake, weather permitting! bill

My helper!

This looked like a really good idea couple of times.

There is my real helper working ground on the next farm over from where I was planting. He says if I would quit wasting 3 or 4 hours sleeping every night we could get more done!

All these pics are near Farmington IL which is 20 miles due west of Peoria. In this picture you can see the water towers in the background.

Thanks for the pic's. I really like that country. My grandad and my great grandad owned and farmed the 160 ac. where the page bus company and wright equip. are now. Here in E.C. In. we started 2 weeks ago. Saw some coming out of the ground today.

2 out of 3 farmers have not started here in this area.

I started late Monday and it rained Tuesday nite again.

I might be able to spray tomorrow if the sun comes out.

Gary; Just for your info. I noticed in the planter pic you showed of your 3200 Kinze you did not have the center turnbuckle in its planting position. The big turnbuckle in the center of your unit should be vertical when you are planting that give your machine its flex. In your operators manual should show you this on page 6-7 and 6-8. Not tying give you hard time just trying to keep you from breaking things. Alot of corn in down here and some beans. Have fun.
