Well, i got an email from someone with pretty detailed instructions on tire-changing, so i ordered two HF 24" tire irons. Thanks guys!! That saved some money ;-)
Should be here soon

Also, R Aikin, i tried to email you, then tried calling you, but neither got through for tecnicial reasons :-)
When you see this, would you email me at Lanselot1993@aol.com or call me at 937.570.9263??

Made my own slide hammer type. Used a piece of old 3/4" shafting with a piece of old truck spring welded to the end. The hammer part is a piece of pipe that slips over the shafting with enought pices of scrap welded on to give it some "authority". Worked well for me for 15 years, still some rims with a "safety" bead give me some problems. Also have used a 4' piece of 2x6, lay the tire and rim flat, put board onto bed as a ramp and drive up on it. No great secret, just some work invoved.

Speaking of tire tools, does anyone know where I can get one of those "slide hammers" used in breaking the bead? I have not looked at all. Getting one locally would be nice (Green Bay, WI).

1. put tire/wheel under truck or tractor
2. put bottle jack on bead of tire
3. jack away
4. broken tire bead- now flip and do again

A bucket loader (with down pressure) or a backhoe also works well. I like the truck idea though...

I made my own, using an old 4'-5' pry bar/digging bar. An inch or less in dia. Found a 2' piece of thick-wall pipe that would slip over the bar. Put a heavy bolt thru the pipe, about 4" from one end. Slip the pipe over the bar and go at it. Don't work the tire too hard at one place, work around the tire.
