Called about a kubota tractor today. The man said he was disabled and was unable to use it. He could not tell me what size it was, but said someone told him it was 50 H.P. The tractor came with a 5' bushog and a 5' finishing mower, all for $3,000. I jumped in the truck and drove about twenty miles and I found it to be small about 15 or 20 H.P. It and the mowers had considerable wear and were badly weathered. A man pulled up just before I did and was looking at the tractor. When he found out I was a prospective buyer he quickly paid the man and never heard it run. I wish I could find people like this when I am trying to sell!

I called a guy about a tractor that I thought sounded underpriced- he said there was someone coming at 10 the next morning to look, so I told him I would come "about then" too. Made sure "about then" was actually a half hour earlier, which was a bit of a bother because it was 300 miles away. Arrived, the tractor was even better than he described, and I was counting out the cash to him when the other guy was coming down the driveway. Used it for two years, then resold for a good profit.

Yeah you gotta take it when you can. This old widow lady had a McCormick 10-20 advertised so I went to look at it. She said she was told 10-20's sold for a few thousand. So I offered her 1500 bucks and she took it. What she didn't realize is that it was a 10-20 TITAN in excellent original condition worth about 20 thousand dollars. I'm bringing it to a swap meet this weekend to sell it. I'm smiling all the way to the bank on that one.

hahaha... that's funny. That reminds me of the time that I went to help my good friend pull his farmall H out of the shed. He had been trying to sell it for years, and when I got there, there was someone there looking at it in the barn. That man asked me who I was when I walked in the barn, and I just said that I was interested in it too (I wasn't really, I was just there to get it out of the shed!). When Bill came out of the house, the guy just gave him the $650 for it. Bill told me that no one had been wanting to give him even $450 for it, so I told him, must've been something I said. haha!

I have bought many vehicles that didn't run but that was reflected in the asking price.
