I feed them every morning, not a lot but more than they clean up right away. They may wander, but aways come back after a day or two. If I was not buying cat food I would be buying poison. I would rather see cats than vermin and cats can be entertaining out here where not much else is happening.

yea, we will soon have more cats than we want.
people see our big red barn and zing out goes a cat and we have another one stepping up tp dinner plate. ain't all bad if they catch mice and are not sick. mrs 730 says we have a half way house for cats.

We just had a long-haired gray female show up at our farm. Nearly starved to death. Obviously she was a house cat that someone dumped. Hubby and I both are soft-hearted when it comes to hurting animals and she now has a place at the farm. If you have a farm, you gotta have barn cats. Our place ran out of cats for a while and rats and mice were everywhere. Chewed all kinds of stuff to shreds not to mention what they left behind.

I keep hoping for a cat or two to take up residence in our barn. Could use some help keeping the vermin under control. Not sure why none show up here.

Why in the world would you want to shoot them when they can be turned into oil.

Thats just not so. Cat population same as human population has a way of controlling itself. Get to many for available space and they start dwindling from disease, war, starvation, social pecking order, gang fighting, etc. etc.

No, but at the very least, feral cats should be trapped and neutered/spayed.

Old Roy, how about you look at it the other way?
Would you rather die slowly of starvation and disease, or would you rather have an angel of mercy put you out of your misery quickly?

Would you rather live a long healthy life without the ability to reproduce, or would you rather your urges doom you to a prolonged suffering and death from starvation and disease because you overpopulated your domain?

I have already lived a fairley long life The ability to reproduce,----- Well who want's to go to their childrens graduation at 108 yr's old any way. As far as death from starvation and disease, Our government is takeing care of that anyway. AS you know lack of money can't buy good healthcare. And prices at the grocery store keeps your choices to a minimum. Guess i'll go shoot a deer to go with the taters tonight!!!
