What anything is worth including the H is what someone is willing to pay 2 at an auction. If those 2 are willing to pay big $$$$$ then what anyone else thinks is irrelevant.

u mean this one, better hurry the bidding ends in 23 hours.

I have been watching that auction. I would like to have 8 or 10 of them in that condition to sell.
I am pleased to see the prices of the IH stuff continue to climb in its worth. Some will no doubt disagree, but other makes have been selling for high prices for a very long time. Look at the recent selling prices of good Super MTA's, it's money in the bank for someone that has one in very good condition.

Value to an elitist OR a hobbyist? in reply to Mike 50, 03-18-2008 15:48:17
You're speaking for only around 2-3% of the farmall population. All the plain F-12's, 14's, Farmall H's, M's, C's out there will never increase in value from where they are now.

Once again, as with the Rare John Deeres, these farmall High-crop torque amplifier contraptions are only set in price by the elite in the tractor world.

Am I jealous? Pshht! Certainly not, since I don't really want to have to climb 6 feet just to get on a tractor I paid 20,000 for.

I'm glad that there are still a few of us out there that can appreciate the hobby of taking a historical artifact and refurbishing it for the sheer pleasure of a job well done - and NOT just as a motivation for capitalist profit.

The F12's, 14's, H's or M's continue to increase in value every year. A lot does need to be considered as to the selling location, in some areas any given model will not bring the price that it would have in another. There will always be people that appreciate this as a hobby, and others that require a working tractor. There will also be someone with more money than brains out there that will pay a crazy price, and a person would be foolish not to accept their cash.

Yep, for sure.

The reason there were so few made is because the silly thing is just plain worthless as far as functionality goes and nobody wanted or bought 'em when new.

The difference between using and collecting.

Let the big boys swap their money; who cares?

The ex NY governor's girlfriend thinks she's sitting on a goldmine also. Ten to one says that goldmine is infected no matter how high the price. :>)

Tractor in the link is a far, far better buy.

Yeahhh, that's another thing I forgot to mention along side the hobbyists- there's more functional value to a person who want to use it, as well.

Yeah, I don't care if people like to swap money like it's the most important thing in the world, either.

We have a 333 M-H Diesel in almost as good condition and I would be delighted to think it was worth a quarter of that price lol.

Thats what having money does to this hobby! 15 years ago, someone may have had to pay the guy to haul it off, then someone with a few bucks in his pocket comes along, and runs the price up more each year, and the little guy, who does just as good of work, gets the boot!
