Was looking at a 1974 Kenworth long nose truck. It is tandem axle. It has 300,000 original miles. The interior is like new. The tires are all 90 percent or better. No wet line. The only downfall to the truck is that it has a silver 92 detroit diesel. Does anyone know what it is worth? Thanks in advance.

Two big down falls First DETROIT (SCREAMERS and territory markers), second is no wet line, figure another $1000 to $1500 to have a wet kit do it (DIY).

Unless it's a collectors item, then about a hundred bucks a tonne ought to cover it...
Is there an uptick to this deal? The silver 92 is only one of many downfalls, the biggest one being it's a 35 year old truck.

Might be ok for a farm truck other than that scrap price. If you do buy it or GIVES it away better buy your oil in barrels like 55 gallons at a time. Chevron 100 15-40.

15-40 is the wrong oil to use in them we had a fleet of 8v-92's and you are supossed to use 30 wt in them

Its probably worth 5 to 7 thousand. I wouldnt call a silver 92 a downfall. The best truck I ever drove was a 1977 kenworth with a silver 92 and an allison automatic transmission, I loved that truck

A Silver 92 Detroit is about the best 2 stroke Detroit you can get.I would guess about $3500.00.

Hard telling. We sold a 1988 IH 9370 with a wet kit and only 400,000 miles. We were lucky to get $8000 after begging for 6 months. They dropped a bed on it and used it for gravel truck.
