I bought a couple AC M's parts tractors a few years back. One had a good motor. I was going to start it today before I did a swap to a tractor with a bad motor. The motor was froze. I removed the plugs two had water in the cylinders. only thing I think happened is the gasket gave out. I guess I should have drained the water. Maybe the next one will be ok. Atleast I fixed my water heater today. I put in a new dip tube on the inside of the tank cold supply. Wife's happy. Stan

Wife being happy is a good thing!
Glad to hear the dip tube worked, shame about the tractor. Some real good threads here about how to break loose a stuck engine. At least now you can do a search and read some without the wife troubling you to fix the hot water.

Hey 37, what happens when you need a tank dip tube. Never changed one and forget what the problems would be indicated. Thanks

I was running out of hot water real quick. I guess the way the thing works is the cold goes into the bottom and forces the hot out the top. With the tube not going all the way to the bottom cold was mixing with hot at the top. Wife didn't like a cold bath. stan

If the dip tube is broken the water entering the water heater enters at the top and mixes with the hot water. It should go to the bottom and push the warm water out the top.
