Just over a year ago, I sold a Deutz Tractor to a man named Bucky Geer, from Albany GA.
He has paid for the tractor in full, and made contact with me on making delivery arrangements after the sale.
His Driver has never made it here to get the tractor.
I have called his cell and home phone and left messages. I have not heard back from him in about 10 months.
I finally took the tractor out to my farm to get it out of my way but what do I do from here?
He bought it, paid for it but I can't make contact to get him to get it.
Anyone know Bucky?
What do I do?

I'd see what the laws are for such things. The neighbor had an auction 20 years ago and I consigned several pieces of equipment on it. One particular large item was still there a year later and he wanted me to get it out of there. The auctioneer told me I could do whatever I wanted to with it. Said here in Michigan anyway, after a year it belonged to me.

With that much money involved, I sure wouldn't resell it without some resolution to the case. Seems as though he would have made some arrangements if he was still alive, but stranger things have happened. Checking with the authorities in his home area would give you a lot of credence if his heirs should come looking for you. Make sure yor request to the sheriff is given a case number, and recorded in the sheriff's log book. Hope you haven't spent the $.

courtesy would be to try all avenues to contact him but legally I think you can do what you want to with it. Ask a judge he will know or have his secretary look it up make sure you keep all documents with dates on it you may have to run a news paper ad telling him he has 30 days to come get it or it will be sold.

did he give you an address when he paid or can you call the local sheriffs department in his town and see if he is still around? That would be my thoughts, legally, I think it would be considered abandoned property and you could resell it is you want to. But I would probably make a couple calls, especially if it is a lot of money.

I have his address and phone number, but everytime I call I get answering machine/voice mail.
He paid me me $3600 for the tractor.
I could follow up with the sheriff, I never thought of that.
I'm thinking about using it like it's still mine.

worst case scenario is the guy had some major, major family problems or something. Like a divorce or something, God forbid.

I would check in with the sheriff, because 3600 is a LOT of money just to keep that tractor around...
