I live in Western WI. I want to buy a case dc, but I am having some trouble finding one to my specifications. I have found one though, but I want to know if this is a deal, or am I getting ripped off. It's a case dc. It has narrow front, good sheetmetal, runs good, three point, hydraulics, foot clutch, good tires, and its overall in good condition. It only has a few minor leaks. It had a full engine overhaul about ten years ago, and the guy says he has hardly used it since then. He wants a $1000 for it. Is this a good deal? I don't think it is the deal of a life time, but I don't think I am getting ripped off. What do you guys think. Sorry, I don't have any pictures, I haven't even seen it for myself yet. Thanks in advance.

I guess it is a good deal for a chain drive tractor.

It's not the same as the JD a another feller got a while back but sounds like a real bargain. If you hesitate, it will probably be gone. Dave

You're kidding, right? If it is as described, it is a VERY good deal.

If you don't take it at that, I'd sure be interested. Well worth the money the way you have it described.

I wouldn't take that for my 1950-hand clutch, no 3 pt, or hydraulics.

Be sure it runs and drives under load. Start it cold too and hot.

This is just an observation.

However, I've noticed that finding an old tractor already "set up" like you want is kinda hard to do.

Most tractors, when set up to 'work', just aren't very darned "pretty". They don't have the fenders, the pretty paint, the new tires, they'll have the wrong front end, wrong hitch and the list just keeps going on and on.

Let's face it. Most old tractors for sale nowadays are trailer queens, parade beautys or they are tree row rusters.

Good working tractors aren't for sale. They are still out there working.

So, I'd say if you found what you want, you'd better jump on it. 'Taint a lot of choices in the old tractor market.

I had the opportunity to buy a DC narrow front, engine ran but poorly for $1000 or $1700 with a rebuilt engine. This one was hand clutch, no 3-point, no hydraulics... and it was about 6 years ago!

I think you would be getting a really good deal!

Foot clutch, 3 point, hydraulics, good condition. If tires are any where usable, Buy it.

If it's as hard to come by as an SC with a foot clutch,it's a bargain. A guy called me with a foot clutch SC for sale, wanted $2500 for it. The hand clutch DCs are bringing what you're being asked for that one around here. Tractor pullers want 'em.
