Any of you Gents ever run into repairing tube size threads ? I am in need of a 1/2" tube size die to fix a fitting/adapter and was wondering if anyone has ever purchased one of the TUBE size nature and if so, where ? This thread is not NPT it is specifically Tube thread -- just to be on the same page and all... thanks for now - JIM

I assume you are talking about the tube fitting thread and not a thread on the tube.
A -8 (1/2) JIC fitting has a 3/4-16UNJF thread.

Take a scale 1/2 in. thread should be 13 to the in. if so then just use a 1/2 NC die.

With a dial caliper and a thread gage, one can determine the diameter and thread pitch of any threaded item. Then a reference such as "Machinery's Handbook" can be used to identify the official name of that thread. Then do a search for a supplier of such a die.
