There doesn't seem to be much activity on this site these days. The classifieds posts seem to be down from what they were 6 months ago. I get 1 or 2 emails on reasonably priced stuff, but no follow throughs. I was thinking about bringing some old M's to Pa, from Texas, but I can't hardly justify the freight without a sale or 2 on this end. Any of you guys selling anything much?

Judging from the 3 different Walmart parking lots I go by sometimes business is booming.Older gas tractors aren't selling because no can afford to run them full time because of fuel costs compared to diesels especially the newer ones.So it only leaves them for the collector market where interest in the more common models is way down.

Yep money is tight and with scrap up its hard to find a good deal any more. I know I have around 10 tractors I would sell but none have sold in the last few years. I know in this area a tractor sold as scrap will only bring in around $40-70 a ton because they can't crush it like they do cars

Went to 2 auctions here in Michigan last week. 19 tractors on one. 8n Ford with new rubber brought $1250. B Deeres for parts were high for what they were, 400-800. Cockshutt 560 Diesel brought 3300. JD H for parts 850. Saturday was a consignment. Things weren't so good. Moline R,pretty fair brought 625. Cars and trucks, dirt cheap,a lot of bid ins.

A guy I work with can get $500 for a scrap pickup truck, I think that scrap steel is $250/ton or thereabouts. A 5000lb tractor should get better then $700 if it is restorable.

In Michigan stuff isnt selling at all, home values are down, alot. You have to almost give away anything to sell it.

I recently have been looking at real estate. A lot of houses are simply empty. I think values are going to drop quite a bit more, and it will be years before they get back to what they were. It really is a buyer's market. I'm hoping to buy a small farm in the next year or 2.

Fuel is so high that no one can afford to haul anything very far.Over $3.00 diesel at 7 mpg loaded is keeping me closer to home.

You must be a mind reader because i was going to post the same. Here is the same thing verbatum. I been seeing this for the past 2 years but about 6 months ago it really tightened up. 50% of whats wrong with this country is the gas pumps. I too have turned down some projects (not for financial reasons) but because i am swamped. and i know some of them there is no way out at this time.
