Hi; Thought you would be interested in seeing what the English version of the MF135 looks like. This is early 1970's version with straight front axle. The cab is an MF rops frame with detatchable plastic sides, doors & roof. The flat top fenders were normal here, round to shell fenders (which came down to the footplates) were available as option. Headlights were always mounted on the grill front. This one has optional front weight frame fitted.

I wish mine looked like that. Mine looked like JJ's from BC that's posted on here when it was new. It now has an Allied loader and a cab off of a US MF20 industrial. The UK floor boards are 3 inches lower than the US models. My lights were on the fenders but apparently early export models were like that. My serial number is F (multi-power) 3742 making it a pretty early 65 model. The oil pan has 9 12 64 on the casting. Most reliable machine I have. Nice picture it looks a lot like the tractor featured in a lot of books on MF. The owner must have put on a spin on oil filter and adaptor. I did as well. Dave

It is interesting to see the variations. The US version also had the headlights in the grill but they did not pertrude.

David, the English Massey was sold here during that period. There was a dealer not to far from where I live. A person could buy them for about a thousand dollars cheaper than the American model, but I think the America model was actually from Canada or assembled there, not sure, and the engine was a perkins from England. The American model MF 175 here and MF 178 English. I had several friends that owned the 178. We owned a 165,175,285 and 1105. They were good tractors.

I like that front frame weight. Does it mount on the 5/8" bolt holes on the front axle mount? Looks like it prevents mounting a front hydraulic pump and replaces the lower radiator shroud.

David. Was this photo taken at the Great Dorset Steam Fair at the end of August, by any chance? There was a very similar 135 there in immaculate condition. Cheers, Chris
