Seems to be growing well here too. I discovered some of it along a stone wall that is the north property line, and is also in the middle the powerline right of way (they own it) tha bisects our place. In '04, whils't putting up a fence, to keep the ATV's out and from ruining the crop of corn, I certainly found it, was extremely potent, left temporary deep pock mark like scars, worse than any other time I've had it in this lifetime. Made darned sure I knew what it looked like after that, and how to deal with it. There are things you can do, and you do have 10-15 minutes to wash it off before it sticks to you, using some sort of appropriate soap or solvent to cut it, I had to clear a path near it just recently and I remembered not to touch the tractor tires after the fact + washed my arms down real good just in case. It seems you have to break the plant to get the oil to flow. The old stone wall kind of fades out in this area I described, at the north end of this corn field, and since I've been watching it grow since '04, with the hopes it will grow onto the fence, this year it does look healthy and is abundant. We don't have any other places where it would be favorable to grow, although I have wondered if letting it prosper in this one area would cause trouble elsewhere, I pity the fool who messes with that fence. The forestry company, Asplundh, wrapped up the restoration work after the new lines came through, was an excellent crew, they left me a gate to tie into there + another gate at the end of the road. I am aware that the oil from that plant, especially this patch, is extremely potent, concentrated and the residue lasts a very long time. I'd love to smear some on the gate, but I think the ATV crowd knows the deal here now, and my luck the wrong person would get it anyway, has been real quiet since I politely tossed 15 of them out, but it would certainly ruin ones day if they got the rash. Apparently, a small drop like the size of a pin head, is enought to make the planet itch ! Not sure if that is really true, but it is by far something I keep my distance from and take lots of precaution, the last bout of itching was enough for me I'll tell ya !
