Loader Bucket?

Where do you go to find just a bucket for a loader? I went to several dealers in the area today, and they only sell complete loaders, not just buckets. I want a bucket for snow that is at least 84" wide to go on my Allied loader that I already have. Any suggestions? (I did find one bucket that was for a JD, but they wanted $900 for the bucket. Seemed high to me)
Thanks

Horst makes a wide variety of buckets. I don't know about your area, but Wiles Sales in Carson City Mi is the state distributor for them here in Michigan. www.wilessales.com. I'm sure they can tell you who the distributor of dealer is in your area.

I have a new like-new bucket for sale in Tenn. for a Allied 495 quick attach system. $450. I added a couple tow hooks to the top flat plate to handle logs or pipe with a chain. Also handy to pull things with.

I'd be very interested, but I live in MN and I suppose the shipping would be quite high, if even possible. If you know of a way, shoot me an email. I'll have it open. Thanks.

Not unusual for a new bucket to run a grand or so. If your loader is set up for hyd bucket, it's not hard to modify another bucket with new mounting brackets. Doesn't your Allied dealer sell separate buckets? If you build one, some welding shops could bend steel for you for the bottom, back, and top. Simpler than welding up separate components. Don't go less than quarter inch thick- 3/8 is better, especially for a bottom. Bucket edge can be purchased and welded on, replaced when worn.

How old is your loader? If it's a current loader a dealer should be able to order a bucket for it. If it is an older loader your best bet might be to have a welding shop build you a new bucket. I've built a couple of buckets from scratch, it's not a hard job and the ones I built are better than what I could have bought.

It is an older loader. 30 years old? Cliff, about how much did you have into buying your steel to make one? Thanks

I haven't built one in about seven years so I have no idea on what it would cost today. There are some places like Horst welding that build buckets but it would get expensive to have one shipped very far.
