I read the post and the follow of that Gary made about the price of corn. What does land rent for for corn or beans (also winter wheat here) And what are the average yields that go with this cash rental rate? Also are these rates for no or minimum tillage? Tomato ground here rents for $250-300 an acres. I have no idea what the rate is for green beans or carrots. J.

I've got a neighbor who says the first liar doesn't stand a chance,LOL. In my neighborhood we've been short on rain 2 years in a row, very unusual for my area. But the tiles are running again so we should be good to go. Heard "talk" of some $300 an acre rent for ground that can grow 250+ bu corn if things go right, but I would say mostly $200-$250 an acre on a competitive basis would be the norm.

We have to take in consideration what the gov't direct payments are too. It can make a huge difference in what you can pay for rent. Just curious, what are they in your area. Here they are from $1/acre-$30/acre usually in the $15/acre range.

Some good ground around here has topped $200/year. Yeilds run 150ish. That was last year, may go up if prices hold for much longer.

This will be hi end I think, Madelia, MN, corn @ $267, Vinton, IA, corn @ $269. I expect these figures to be questioned, especially by operators.

Crazy stuff. Land rent just north of you used to be 95-155 an acre. I have no idea this year. 200bu corn yields the last few years.

Used to sell for $2400 3 years ago, then 31-3400. This past year see some for $4500 - probably more, I don't pay so close attention.

Central Ohio . Mostly corn & beans rent has went through the ROOF !
Running between 100 to 200 per acre . Most of us got a rent increase this year ( mine went up by 30 ) Yield on corn runs between 105 to 145 on a good year . Beans from 38 to 55 on a great year .

I was getting 14.00 for no tilling beans but I'm going to 15.00
