This is a picture of our old bank barn. It is 50' by 36' with sandstone foundation and original slate roof. The timbers were cut on our farm. My great grandfather had it built in 1898 by Frank McKensie of New Brighton, PA. The slate has been repaired many times by not always the best slaters. Last one to work on it did a good job and it has held up well. The siding is mostly original. A few years ago I had the Amish do some work on it. We converted the downstairs to box stalls for horses, renailed all the old siding, replaced some floor in the loft, replaced facia boards and ventilators, and put in a block foudation under the back (open) basement wall. This is an old wagon shed on our farm. Built 1897 about 21' X 31'. It is bad need of restoration. Foundation is stone pillars under 10" X 10" beams. The building is built on top of these beams. It has a granery on the second floor and a corncrib on 1 side. The beam on the right is rotting causing the building to lean that way.

western Pa. huh....i don't normally admit to it, 80) but i have kinfolk there from my dad's side... mostly around the Charleroi (sp?) area.

i like Pa. pretty state. lotsa old barn still around there last time i was thru. used to do some deer hunting over by "dewboys", out of a little town called weedville.
