I have a Belarus 250AS that has live lift or in other words the lift puts downward pressure on the implement on the lift. In my situation using an auger, this comes in very handy in hard ground. However, I'm partial to Yanmar tractors and was curious if Yanmar has any models with live lift. Ray Dove

Oh, I didn't even read your message yesterday, thought you were asking about live 3pt - as the other person mentions.

Live 3pt could mean it works when the clutch is in or out - basicly like hyd. It could also be a rference to position control - some 3pts you can raise or lower by holding the lever & letting go - typical hyd port. Better ones are position control - you slide the lever to a spot, & the 3pt will also go to that relative spot, and even if it leaks down, will correct itself back to that spot.

You are only asking about down pressure on a 3pt.

That is very rare. Typically it is a bad thing, except in the case you mention. Floating 3pt is better for most things.

Anyhow, Belaraus is one of the few. Some of the IHC tractors that are converted from the 2point hitch will also have down pressure.

I hear the nicest post digging is with a hyd powered digger mounted on the loader bucket. Might want to consider moving to that if you make a lot of holes.

Live lift means a lift that'll lift while the clutch is being pressed. Down pressure on the lift is unrelated. I don't think many 3 point tractors have down pressure. Farmall cultivating tractors like the cub, super A, 140 have down pressure and you can get an after market 3pt for them.
