I started my '39 Huber L today for the first time. What a great feeling. It hasn't run in 40 years or so. You can really feel the history when they wake up after such a long time and they look better than new.

Thanks for all the nice words. My shop isn't really that clean. Pictures hide alot of stains on the floor. And rest assured that all of the grease and dirt that was once on this tractor ended up on me or the floor. I have a wife and three daughters so my barn is my haven. It's the only place where I am in absolute control.

Very nice looking tractor and congrats on the start up - nothing makes u feel better then for it to start after ripping it apart. Looks like you've done a very good job. Make sure you post a final pic as there's still the sheet metal to go on? I've never heard of a Huber either.

Look at that clean shop floor. Wrenches hung in a line... Wish my shop looked like that. Nice Tractor. I have never heard of a Huber, but I will check my books and see what I can dig up. Congrats on the first fire-up. Had to be scary, though.

Let"s go Mountaineers,

Aaron

I found a Huber parked at the entrance to a forest campground once. I asked about them here and learned that Huber made farm and industrial tractors before WW2, but after the war they concentrated on industrial and road maintenance tractors.

The one I found was a road maintainer. It had a front dozer blade and a belly mount grader blade. It had been used to maintain the gravel road through the campground. I drive past that campground every day and the tractor disappeared a few years ago. I don't know if they got rid of it or finally built a shed to park it in out of sight.

Yea, I wish my office was that neat and clean, never mind the garage!

He must have had someone else work on the tractor somewhere else, then just parked it there for the picture :)

GREAT looking tractor! Looks like a top quality job. It's hard for tractor nuts like us to explain to someone who has never done a job like this, the feeling of euphoria we have when she first fires up. And no, It's not because of the paint fumes. Jim
