hydraulic pressure

I have a couple hydraulic cylinders from a junked JD #45 loader laying around that I would like to use with my IH 966. It seems that I heard years ago that the hydraulic pressure of tractors later than mid 60's was too high to use these older cylinders on. Can anyone confirm this? Will I need to put a pressure regulator in the line to use them? Thanks

The old cast-iron Deere implement hydraulic cylinders used with the old two-cylinders won't take the pressure of modern hydraulics.

That is probably what you've heard about.

I don't know who could tell you for sure what pressure those loader cylinders can take.

Are they all steel, or do the have cast-iron "glands"?

Both ends are cast, and the cylinder/tube appears to be steel. I really don't have time to check with a magnet for a few days now. Thanks
