Thoiught about posting this to the question below, but thought it might get lost...
My copy of "The American Car Since 1775" by Automobile Quarterly (1971) shows:
The DEERE-CLARK car produced 1906 by the Deere-Clark Motor Car Co of Moline, Ill, which became the DEERE car, produced 1906-07 by the same company, "which started as John Deere Plow Works".
ALSO LISTED in the books' verified production TRUCK section is the DEERE truck, produced 1906-07 by the same Deere-Clark company.
The book has a separate truck section for names for which they could find no proof of production; this separate section includes prototypes and experimental vehicles, so they must've found something they felt verified production of a Deere truck. Unfortunately, it's a name list only; no production figures or type (tonnage) references. Perhaps someone with an updated edition (if there are any) can advise if the same data still shows.

I'm positive I've seen pictures of a John Deere truck possibly in MacMillan's. It may have been an off road type vehicle. I'll do some digging and get back.

MJ:I should have noted in my post that the book specified it limited itself to road trucks; the separate truck mfr"r section, that included experimentals and prototypes, also included a few off-road makers like Euclid, all specifically identified as builders of "off-road vehicles" or similar wording. But by all means, see if you can locate what you remember seeing.

Wow, I never knew that. I thought in the begining they were known for first the plow and later with Waterloo. Never knew they made a truck, guess it makes sense the McCormicks were probably making trucks too.

They also had there "fingers" in another truck venture like a UPS truck say 15 years ago. They sold it off and right now I don't remember who to.
