Mornin' Guys,

I'm having a real bad case of "old tractor withdrawal" this morning.

I need another old tractor to work on 'cause I've gone just about as far as I can go on this one.

Wish you fellas would find me another old junker to work on. I need something to do! :>(

Allan

Wow! What a transformation, Allen. I remember when you bought that machine. What happened to the loader? Ain't ya' gonna' restore it?

Thanks Jer,

A nice young man from down in Oklahoma needed a loader and since I had three of 'em, I let him have this one.

Gave it a quick paint job and took a beatin' on it, but I just never could get used to the DuAl loaders for some reason. They just seem "clumbsy" to me.

Anyway, he's happy and I'm okay with the deal. :>)

You got plenty to work on!.... in reply to Allan In NE, 07-05-2006 05:30:05
Just hire you some employees to run your stuff, and then you'll have continuous repairs, especially T/A's and clutches :')) oh and send them out to do some serious plowing with that Hydro tractor of yours, that'll be a nice repair too. Employees will do everything, including stuff that will leave you scratching your head and saying what were they thinking?. One of my neighbors hired a kid to run one of his tractors, and he ran it under a low tree limb, froze up I guess and didn't react, so it cleaned off the muffler, the air cleaner, and knocked him off the seat, luckily it didn't have a cab on it, but he never stopped.

Allan,

Find a nice old skid steer to restore...they sure are handy and it's something you don't already have!

If that doesn't work I'll ship my H out to you for an overhaul.
Good luck!

There's a 1486 on the dealers lot here - they don't seem to have it listed on their website though. Have you talked the boss out of a green one yet? It looks like it's in fairly decent shape - may not be enough work for you! It's got duals, a/c and an air ride seat though! Not sure what hauling up there would be from Central Kansas.

Steve,

The 1486 is really what I'm leaning towards.

There is a 1977 model here with 7300 hours. "Fairly" clean tractor, but they want a small fortune for it tho.

I wonder what your dealer is asking?

Allan

Well, I just called, but all the salesmen were already gone and the kid "couldn't find it on his list." I'll stop by this evening and take a closer look at it.

Geeze!

Think I'd better get in the truck and go get that Hydro 70 clear the heck over in Maryland.

Had to go clean my glasses after looking at the little Ford. :>)

Allan, Was that 1256,I pointed out to you the other day, toooo far down on the scale? You did ask for a "junker". LOL! To me it looked like a decent platform to start off on. It had a starting bid of 1K. In that same section on ebay, as that tired 1086 ya'll talked about the other day. It would sure fill the bill as a lot of hp, probably in the 140+, It would surenough look good in your line up when finished.
It looked like simular project to your 966 to me. The tin is all there, just more rust and such.
As long as the rearend is sound that is the only question. Anyway it was just a thought. Happy Hunting!
Later,
John A.

Dunno,

For some reason, I'm just not a big fan of the 1206s or the 1256s.

Where's the 1086? Missed that one, I guess.

I gotta find something to twist wrenches on; I'm pacin' the darned floor! :>)

Allan, I think it was Chadd that posted a pic of a 1086 w/ a cab, and big singles. You replied that you had spoken to the owner, and it was sureenough "tired" it was probaaably too high for what it was.
It is in the ebay ---> Buss/Indus,--> Tractors/Farm machinery,--> 100hp + section.

John A.
