The oil in our tractors stays clean until around 75 hours, then it gets black and they start to burn oil. So we usually change around 75 to 100 hours. In the winter with short run times and poor operating conditions (farm is in ND) they get changed around 50 hours.

It depends on the tractor/engine involved. In our Massey 285 w/ a Perkins 4-318 and 12 qt. capacity(80-85 HP), I change it every 100 hours. In our Oliver 1855 w/ a Oliver/Waukesha 6-310 and 8 qt capacity (105 HP) I go every 50 at the most, sometimes more. I think the manual calls for 100 in both, but in the Ollie I'm just not gonna risk it. What tractors/models are you talking? makes a difference.

Regular oil analysis can help set up an oil change schedule based on the actual conditions the tractor operates under.

Where do you have your oil analysis done and how much does it cost per tractor?
