I did not care for it. A lot like other forums I have been on and eventually left. Don't need smilies and logos and all that stuff. Probably in the minority but it's not the first time.

Some folks find it hard to change and learn new things. I remember a few people that did not like this format, but they have gotton use to it.

Wow.. what a condescending attitude. Many of us here are technology workers.. and don't have an issue about using the new sub.. however.. the bells, whistles, and shear amount of 'gongs' present kind-a hide the rest of the forum.. reminds me of being in a kids room.. toys everywhere and 'kiddie' walpaper.. etc.... almost need sunglasses to go over there..

More than i would like to be. Mostly I deal with SR, and equipment instalation/maint, some audio for video, or radio broadcast.. etc.. However my wife uses midi, so i've setup her laptop with cakewalk, and a usb midi uno port, as well as picked her up a dedicated kawai sequencer.. etc.

Sammy,

I just don't think that is the case.

I make my living with computers and grab every new wrinkle that comes down the darned pike.

But, it is just plain "unnatural" to try and read something with all the bangles, bows, twinkies, little boxes and colored lights going on. It is distracting; it is just plain childish and I am of the opinion that it is aimed solely at aquiring the bubble-gum crowd.

Don't like the "grey", "boxed" look of this format either since it has been changed and think it is pure and simple "gaudy"; and again, in my opinion, it should have been left with that "clean" look. But, what are ya gonna do? It is her site; she can do with it as she likes.

But, please do not say that we are slow to learn, as there are those of us who just don't like to spend a heck of a lot of time in the comic section with it's crayola and play-doh atmosphere.

Allan

Ya know, I just don't think that kind of generalization applies here and is unfair to people who want to voice a genuine opinion. I work with tax law. It is very complex and changes constantly throughout the year. I handle it very well thanks. My opinion was that this nice clean forum is easy to use and efficient. Don't need smilies and polls. That was a specific complaint. If you have a specific ANSWER then I would love to hear it.

Still sounds like a shotgun approach to me, but you and I have history and I know you are a good guy. I'm gonna let it slide....

Darn, where's a smilie when you need one!!!!

It is still there.
Looks like Kim may be shutting it down since she has the new server hooked up and running to this site. That may be why she removed the link here.
