Farmer down the road few miles was a lookin fer a hired hand, so I gave him a call on Thursday. Well, he says, I have another guy that normally helps me, but he can't come Sat. (yesterday) so you can come an help with chores, etc. 420 head winter feeding contract operation. Leared a lot, an workin' on the weakends and some after school. Not complainin' 'bout pay, either. $8.00 an hour, enjoyable, fairly easy work, learnin' a bunch.
So now I can afford to buy tools (and a truck, too)!!

Wow....there's a philosophy I haven't heard in a while! Kinda like carbon dating, I think it is and indication of age. All that plow knowledge and an admirable work ethic. I'm impressed.

I didn't know it was called a "work ethic"...I just never knew any better, I guess. It worked for me, and the company never complained either.

Plows?? Maybe not much technical knowledge, but I've used a few and got a fair amount of literature.

Age? It's like the old story about the preacher...once he got past all the things the old geezer shouted, "Amen" to, and got down to the things the old geezer was a little guilty of, the old geezer said, "Preacher, you just stopped preachin' and started meddlin". Well, you got me...I'm 68 and originally from the next state south of you...maybe that explains it? Gotcha!!
