Hi-
I have a 1948 International Td-6.Nice little dozer but starts hard.It starts on gas and converts to diesel after a few minutes of warm up.It seems to try to start, fires once in a while. After basically wearing the starter out it will fire up.15 minutes or so.Could anyone help me to what the think the problem is?
thanks
John

Gotta have spark and gas.

Got spark when you first try to start it?

If so, got gas at the carbutetor drain?

That's someplace to start, anyway. Note that the starting linkage shuts off both the magneto and the fuel feed to the carb when in diesel mode, so your problem may be switchover linkage-related.

Post back and let us know what you found. Brian

John, you're not given us much here buddy. I don't know from what you've said what you may or may not have tried. What are you looking for just a bunch of guess's????
It's my opinion based on the lack of information you've given you need to start with the basics. So get out your manual and look in the trouble shooting section and go through that step by step.
As you are aware there is a certain sequence of events that must take place before that thing will fire. Go through those events as they need to occurr making sure they do. You will come to the problem Correct it and go doz'in..
