I need to know if anybody has a good way to reinstall JD Model G wheels on the tractor. I had to put one back on the other day and had to drive it on with a sledge hammer and board. It took me two hours. I cleaned the Axle with a wire brush and grinder and sanded it until it was smooth and checked for burrs . And did the same on the hub for the tractor. I then greased the axle and the hub to reinstall. I need to know if anybody has found a better way to reinstall the wheels without driving your brains out with a sledge hammer. Any help would be appreciated

Sumtin ain't right. Should slide on with modest pressure.

Two stupid questions. Did you loosen the clamp? And when you said you cleaned the axle and hub did you just get the outside or get down in the splines?

We adjust them in by jacking that side up and running a chain around the tractor through the wheel. Twist the wheel and It will go in. To go out we used to use a tree the same way. Now a bottle jack works much better.
