OK, anybody go to the show in Arden,NC this weekend. There was a guy there who has a model of Henry Fords first engine that was built from common hardware store parts and ran. I have been burning up the internet trying to find blueprints of this and cant for the life of me find anything other than when he built this engine. I would really like to find the blueprints as my oldest son was so fasinated by it,I would like to help him build one.Any clues you guys may have would be greatly appreciated!

FWIW I remember a magazine story,20-20 years ago, about a fellow who set out to build an exact running model of Henry Ford's first car. The HF museum allowed him to measure the car in great detail. The stickler was that no one knew the exact details of the design of the interior of the cyl head,as to igniter design and piston/combustion chamber design. As I recall, the HF museum people finally agreed to remove the cyl head from the original car to allow precise measurements and pictures. Who was the fellow? I havent a clue, but I bet the HF museum people would know.

You might contact the Henry Ford Museum. I'm pretty sure they own the original and if authoritative blueprints exist, the Ford Museum would have them.

Of course, because of product liability concerns, they may not be willing to share the blueprints with you.

John, go to the "Model A club of America" site and ask that question if no one here has the answer. Now if you wanted to know about the X 8 engine I might have helped.
