Hi Guys,

Hit this stubble with the disc for the second time and started plantin' alfalfa this morning.

Now, I remember why the big boys want those 40 footers. Gonna take awhile with this little feller. :>)

That equipment sure looks good in the dirt.
Sounds like somebody might rent some of my farm. My neighbor had his rented this year but they didn't plant anything, apparently the guy asked about our fields too. Gotta get out there and give 'em a mowing so they don't look too scruffy. The guy seemed pleased at the idea of our fields sitting in clover for 4 years...

Aloha, Hmmmm, looks like he finally did it, remote control. I can just seem him sitting under that big tree sipping a cool one with the joy stick on his lap. LOL

Well if you think its slow going that way, just think you could be out there with them horses. And if you remember it that way you will think your getting it done real fast.

Now how did I know this was going to be Allan's post before I ever opened it up? How can you possibly get anything done that far away from your tractors? Those raincaps look low too, you on a break? It will take even longer if you keep jumping off to knock the clods of dirt off and grab pictures before they get dirty. Then you run to the house to post em too. Seems like a lot of time wasted there Allan when you could be in the saddle. Come to think of it, what am I doing here? Git'n er done!

Now we know why when we say: "Wonder how come we used to get so much done, even with smaller equipment? Here"s your answer: We rarely stopped to take pictures after each operation.

I"ve got a son-in-law who has to take pictures and videotape of everything we do around the farm. When I"m milking, cleaning out farrowing crates, hooking up the baler. He told me when I was baling hay to stop and pose for a picture. I said: "I think I hear someone calling for you up at the buildings, better run along. I can"t make bales unless I"m moving down the windrow."

All in good time. Corral building during a Nebraska summer can be hazardous to your health. That's fall work, for sure. Then there's feeding in the winter, and don't forget the spring work. Oh, and gotta put in some time on the real job, that makes all this fun possible. No rest for the weary, Allan.
