I just bought a Cockshut 315 Sickle Mower at auction. I am looking for instructions on use and care. Also how to replace the rope (and what type the nylon just melted away) that is used for raising the bar. How high should it raise it? any help would be appreacated.

The Cockshutt is exactly the same as an Oliver or Moline 315 except for the paint. That should be a sisal rope with some grease on it. If you can't get a manual from Agco contact me as I have one for my Oliver I could copy. I have the rope control but never used ir as we converted to hydrolic ccylinder lift and we had the hay conditioner hitch and pulled both together.
