I have a JD 317 and when I turn on the deck the engine dies, which I think points toward a safty switch/wiring problem. The wires are a mess!!!
I have a yellow and two reds which all come from the PTO switch and then head back toward the seat. The reds are tied together and I need to know about the yellow. Thanks Abunch

It would be better to ask in the garden tractor area of this site. Or a weekend freedom machines. Some people figure that they are too smart to need safety equipment and yet don't know how to wire electrical devices??? Looks like you inherited such a mess. The manuals are cheap from 1-800-522-7448. The parts only manuals are on Mother Deere's web site.
