Have some old chrome pieces (50years plus) that I would like to clean up and polish. What can I use that would do a good job? Frank

While you are at the bike shop, look for a product called Simichrome.

SOS pad followed by aluminum foil. I'm sure you're skeptical, so try it on something like a truck bumper to see.

If they are slightly pitted or discolored, go to a motorcycle shop and get a product called "Blue-Job" It is SLIGHTLY abrasive so use with care. Works wonders on discolored chrome and stainless.
If you just want to add a shine and protect use Mother's products. Most good auto parts carry this line.

Years ago, we used to rub chrome with aluminum foil to shine it up.Don't ask me it why,it just worked.
