HELP! My dad has bought a 1941 McCormick Deering WD-6 to restore. He has discovered that it has Olive Green paint a few coats down. He would like to know more about these tractors and could they have been used in the military?

It is possible that the tractor was originally built for the military. Look for a tag or stencil somewhere that would identify it as such. There may be some other identifying marks, I am certainly not an expert, so I don't know all the answers. I have provided a link to the Wisconsin historical society. They have the archives for International Harvester.
