joe, Alexanders is a Ford tractor wrecking yard. ONLY! If they don't have it then they should know who might. You can't B_tch & Moan about the price of a free call.

No sir John. They restore. The head I purchased was salvage, yes, but they restored it to usable condition. The crank was also restored. Both done in their superb machine shop.

So yes they are a salvage yard, but turn other people's trash into very usable parts for guys like us. If I recall, they do whole tractors too, cause I had to haggle the guy out of the head. Seems the Ford 100 series head had a habit of cracking and they had a process of restoration (drill the crack and drive lead pins into the holes all along the crack). Seems he had a tractor he was rebuilding and needed the head for it.

Additionally, they sell new parts. I bought new 3 pt parts, arms, leveler box and shaft, interconnect pieces, and they had other things that wear out over the years.

txblu, Sorry about that, I forgot that they reconditions tractors too. My main point was they were a place that specialized in Ford, Ford-NH tractors. So they should be able to help find him the part he needed for his cab.
Hope ya'll are getting some of this rain tonight. Later,
John A.

Tell em John.

I drove over there when I did my first restoration tractor. Head was cracked and crank scored. Fixed me right up and picked up a few more Ford parts while there. I mosey'd thru their machine shop and looked at some of their work and it is first class.

This tractor was/is an SOS and I had doubts about it's condition. The (my) local SOS guy was long dead and that was before I knew about ytmag. Anyhew, I noticed a skid sitting there that had a complete 4 or 5 sp transmission including all adapters to remove and replace an SOS with a geared type for $1750. Kept that in mind, but the SOS is still working (for my son) so no need to fret.

Later,

Mark
