Let me see if I've got this straight.

First this live hydraulic pump is off a IH 300; 'tis run from the tractors timing gears.

I've got my "little" problem posted over on the IH board too and there is a young feller over there that says that if I take the time to do this job right, that this pump will not only handle the power steering requirements, but will also allow me to get rid of the PTO pump on my loader, thereby letting me route the loader thru this this little engine driven pump also and that it will handle the whole she-bang giving me live hydraulics for the loader as well.

Not doubting his word, but will these little pumps handle both the power steering and this loader too? Does it have that much snort? That ol' PTO pump is kinda a monster.

Thanks for your thoughts,

Allan

Allen,
Yes that little pump will run the loader and the pwr steering, you need the manifold from a 300-450, priority valve, system relief valve, and a reservior. Would also plumb in a filter base on the return line. If the pump is shot forget it, if the pump is good and you deceide to go another way what do you want for it? I have one that is good the other is marginal. Why do you ask these questions anyway? I thought you were the political commentator/stirrer guy LOL
regards,
Van

Yes it will and no it will not. On a farmall that pump puts out around 1200psi if its good. The problem is 1200 psi is just enough for a loader but that is it. Been running in to that same problem with a friends loader on a 450, he wants to move hay bales but if its warm he can't lift them high enough to do what he wants. Ya it maybe a bad pump also but 1200psi is a little low for a loader. You could get a belt drive pump and be able to have your cake and eat it also

Allan;

We had a used pump and power steering motor put on a Super M. Also was set up to run a remote cylinder from same pump. Never did work very good. I think pump was shot. And Ya, you have to have a priority valve in there some where.
