Just changed my internet service provider a few weeks ago and since then, there are two tractor guys who email me regularly (both live in the US) who cannot get their emails through to me. I have enquired at my ISP and they tell me that mail from these two ISP's that my friends are with are "blocked" totally because of the huge amount of SPAM mail that they generate or allow to originate from their servers. One is SBC Global and the other is Comcast. Any comments about this or has anyone out there ever heard oaf such a thing? If you are with SBC Global or Comcast, drop me an email and lets see if it gets through. I have removed the hide feature from my name/email link in my post.

My ISP is pretty bad about doing that kind of stuff. For a cable connection they were the only choice. I never, ever use the email acct from them. I simply set up free accts with the y company and the h company (in fact last time I checked seems I have 20 some odd addresses). Only ever use 2 or 3 of them.

I just sent you an email from my sbcglobal account and it bounced back so fast it made my head swim!
Loose this provider if they cant pass sbcglobal or comcast. 1/2 the folks at my work have comcast or sbcglobal. A) Comcast is only options if you want high speed cable internet around here.
B) SBC is the big player down here for local phone service and have best deal on DSL.

I would also consider dumping this ISP if they have blacklisted an entire domain. That is just silly for them to think they can get away with that.

Any ISP worth its salt will use blacklists and whitelists. Blacklists are lists of addresses (usually not entire domains) that are known to be troublesome. Yes, I know that some entire domains are bad so please dont hammer me on this statement. Whitelists are a way for email to get through if an entire domain has been blocked. Example: Your ISP blocked all mail from "@booboo.com". You should be able to tell your ISP or your email program should be able to be "told" to accept mail from "JohnDoe@booboo.com".

If they cannot be flexible, dump them !!!

Mike,

Hmmmm, don't know all of the particulars of course, but I think I'd be for dumping this outfit if this is indeed the case.

Now, they are going to dictate to you who you can and cannot get mail from? A bit presumptuous on their part, is it not?

Could it be however, that they are filtering out Trojans, viruses or something instead?

Allan

If I had this problem I would post the providers name in CAPITAL letters.
