We have a 30-06 Duetz torn down, and now that it is time to put it back together, we still cant find any information as to what the caps should be torqued to.

Any information greatly appreciated.

According to the Deutz service manual, they should be torqued using an angle torque gauge. Initially tighten the rod bolts to 30 Nm, then turn them an additional 60 degrees, then an additional 30 degrees for the final torque. This should be done evenly and in stages. If you don't have access to an angle gauge, just remember that each flat of the bolt head is 60 degrees. The mains are 30 Nm + 60 + 45, the head bolts are 40 Nm +45 + 45 + 45 + 30. Hope this helps!
