Yes, Friends and Neighbors,

You heard it here first: it is "kinda" raining here in western Nebraska. Sort of a heavy mist thing.

If I were a religious man, I'd go and give thanks. Wow! What a dry spell we've had!

Allan

Allan, If it were within my power, I'd gladly ship you some of the rain we've had here in Mid-Michigan the last month and a half. We lost 3 weeks straight that we couldnt get on to the fields whatsoever. We've had to replant nearly 1/3 of the corn we had planted before the rains came due to wash-out. We still werent able to get the replant completed, and hope to plant soybeans on the same ground provided the soys will grow after applying herbisides fashioned for corn. Since the 3 week delay, its been a real adventure finding a dry enough field to plant. Judt today, I burried a 20 ft. JD 750 in the much and mire, and nearly burried the 1500 4x4 Massey pulling it. Luckily, I was able to get the tractor out by unhooking it from the planter and attaching a 30ft cable and get the tractor on high ground. I got the drill out, but spent the next 2 hours digging the mud out of the seed shoes. Through sheer determination, we are down to the last 500 acres of soybeans to plant, (out of 2,000) unless we can replant the 200 acres on top of the washed out corn. Tis enough to make a feller go get a McJob. One thing for sure, the weeds werent hurt by all the rain. So, yes, if you can find a way to haul it your way, we'll gladly share some of this Michigan rain.

Glad to hear your getting the rain we don't need. Here in Wisconsin it has been very wet. Allot of land not even worked up the first time, and allot of crops not planted. Many are trying to make hay. Washed hay that is!

Hi Ken,

LOL!

Yep, that's the way it is here too. If it would just get a little bit heavier, then I'm certain I'd be able to detect it.

I was so darned elated! Had to run to the bank this morning and I actually got to use the windsheild wipers since who knows when; and by golly, they still work!

Where you at? Over around Sterling or Brush?

Allan

John,

I'm not so sure it's still there.

The last time I was across the bridge, all that I noticed was the smell of dead fish and that rapidly receeding water line. Well, that and all those boats that were up for sale.

Rumor has it that you can walk across it and not dampen your hat. :>)

Do not rejoice to soon. Once you get it to start you may be like others and not be able to get it to stop.
