Mapquest used to be really good- you could view a map, then switch to aerial photo.

However, after sep 11 they took that feature down :(

Yeah, like 3-1/4 years after September 11th.

MapQuest aerial images only went away approx. December of 2003.

Terraserver is the easiest to use. But, there are better and higher resolution maps available for much of the country. They can be downloaded free, but they're huge and require special software to read. The software is also available free, but it gets complicated. For just the town I live in, I have to download a file that's around 4 gigabytes, which is not feasable on a dial-up connection. Easiest, at least in my case, is to go to the county and get print-outs.
You can find out more at: Link

Brian, I assume that you are talking about aerial photos of your farm/ranch! Go to your local ASCS office.....That name has changed to USDA-ASC office for your county. Most counties that have major Ag production. Will have the county flown 2 times / yr.
There are spring and fall pics. They also have the Acreage certification maps and they can order those too. Usually those maps are done every 10 yrs. Those maps will really show changes in the land, urban encroachment, dozeing done.
Hope this helps
Later,
John A.

I expect there are several aerial photo sites available, but the only one I know is Terra Server. I haven't visited in awhile, but some areas used to be blacked out for security reasons. Whatever that might mean. Some were also outdated by quite a number of years. I've heard that they have now been updated.

Link below.

I use the Link but it has been down for a couple days when I try it. Fresher photos than terraserver for my area but wondered what everyone else was doing.
