About every 3 years on my snowblower, I have to redo the primer line connection at the carb. because of softening of the rubber hose due to using ethanol gasoline. The primer fitting is just a short nipple that the hose slides on. I've had my snowblower for 23 years, and this seems to be the only negative effect of ethanol.

If hose puffs air from primer it should hook to nipple on carb/or carb manifold. What brand engine?
