I need new fenders on my trailer but the damage to the old ones make it difficult to measure the gap between the tire and the fender. How high should they be? And also what angle is coorect for a four foot dovetail on an eightteen foot tandum? Thanks for your help Willy

The gap should be a bit more than the springs can compress. Otherwise, the bed will bottom out and the tire will hit the fender. Dovetail angle, if figured straight with the ramp, depends on the length of the ramp, and how much you enjoy looking at the stars while loading something on your trailer. No right or wrong- just depends how steep you want to drive up.

Don't know, but suggest you load the trailer 'bout as heavy as you can imagine it ever could be, then measure, and include a great big safety factor!
