I AM LOOKING AT BUYING A FORDSON SUPER DEXTA FROM MY LOCAL TRACTOR DEALER. THEY JUST COMPLETED REBUILDING THE PERKENS DEISEL ENGINE. THEY PUT ON A NEW GOVENER ALSO. HYDROLICS WORK GOOD, IT HAS NEW HEADLIGHTS AND NEW BATERY. FRESH PAINT GOOD SHEET METAL. THE RIGHT FENDER IS A LITTLE ROUGH.
I TEST DROVE THE TRACTOR AND IT RUNS GOOD AND EVERYTHING WORKS, GOOD BRAKES. MY QUESTIONS ARE, IS THIS TRACTOR BIG ENOUGH TO RUN A POST HOLE DIGGER? IS THIS A GOOD BUSH HOG TRACTOR? ARE PARTS HARD TO FIND? IS THIS A STRONGER TRACTOR THAN A 9N? THE PRICE IS $3200 BUT IT DOES HAVE A NEW ENGINE. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE APPERICATED. THANKS Joe

Great tractor with lots of power. Parts may be difficult to find other than the engine parts.

The Super Dexta is alot more tractor than the 9N. Dexta has Live 3 point and live PTO. The 3 Pt. has draft and position control. My Dexta also has 2 way remote hyd. outlets. The Super Dexta has 37 PTO HP, While the 9N will be around 25 HP. The price sounds fair for my area. I have needed very few parts for mine. I do have a concern about getting parts. ( I live in the USA ) I have an 8N and a Dexta. I like the Dexta best. LOL

This is just a small point but its turning into a myth with each telling,Perkins designed the Dexta engine they did not manufacture it,Ford made it themseves.

roger, You are partly correct. Ford made the castings which were then tranported to the Perkins factory in Peterborough, U.K. where the engines were assembled. Completed engines were then taken back to Dagenham where the tractors were assembled.
